Workforce performance platforms compared
Grouped by what each platform measures, with where each is strongest.
"Best" depends on the question
No platform is best for every organization. The useful question is what an organization needs to find out.
| If the organization needs… | Look first at… |
|---|---|
| A broad suite for engagement, performance and development | Engagement and experience suites |
| Manager-led reviews, 1-on-1s and coaching | Manager-led performance platforms |
| An established engagement standard with large benchmarks | Gallup |
| Continuous listening inside Workday | Workday Peakon |
| An enterprise suite covering many kinds of feedback | Qualtrics |
| To know whether people can keep going, next to whether they want to | A capacity-and-engagement platform |
Group 1: engagement and experience suites
Culture Amp. Engagement surveys, performance management and development in one suite, with a long list of HR-system integrations. States SOC 2, ISO and GDPR compliance. Strongest where breadth across the HR cycle matters.
Gallup. Known for the Q12, a fixed 12-item engagement survey, with a large benchmark base and strengths development. Strongest where an established standard and cross-organization comparison matter. Statements about Gallup are Gallup's own.
Qualtrics. An enterprise experience-management suite covering the employee lifecycle from recruitment to exit, with automated analysis, benchmarks and action tracking with named owners. States FedRAMP, HITRUST and HIPAA credentials. Strongest at scale and analytical depth.
Workday Peakon. Continuous listening with attrition-risk views, manager tools, and a direct route into Workday. Lists many import and identity options. Strongest for Workday customers.
Group 2: manager-led performance and coaching
15Five. Reviews, 1-on-1s, coaching and engagement surveys in one system, with AI features and a compensation add-on. Strongest where manager enablement is the priority.
Group 3: capacity and engagement together
thrive at work. The publisher of this guide. Measures engagement and capacity in one survey, keeps individual results private to each employee, shows managers team results from 5 people, and pairs results with action plans and short courses. A newer platform: launched commercially in September 2026, with 3 pilot customers; manager, HR and executive screens are in English for now; ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are in progress. Our own page summarizes it, and thriveatworkreviews.com holds the full review, including what to weigh.
